I'm trying to remember something horrible that happened when I was little. I only have a few snippets of memorization of what happened. I remember a dark room, 1-3 people, and an intense smell of blood. Is there any way I can try to remember even more of it?
This rope has been burned
and I have broken threw these bars of doubt
my wings have been mended
and although forbidden to fly
I'm now high in the sky
and now that I see the truth and lie
dark and light miles apart
I sing with all my might
as I soar to the grassy plain
where the sun never sets, and flowers never die

Hi Artichowl,

Welcome to the Depression forum. To be honest, you can't force a repressed memory. The mind has a way of protecting us and this memory wont come back until the mind can deal with it. Your mind is a very powerful thing. I went to a counselor to work on it. And she helped me a lot. I would suggest you see a counselor to help you. Just remember that your mind is going to continue protecting you and it will come back when you are ready.

Keep posting and we will try to help you through this as much as we can. You could be suffering from ptsd too and that is a good reason to seek therapy.

Best wishes to you on your healing journey.

Hugs, Karen
