Hello there, i have had a really hard time over the last 12 months i thought i could just brush off everything that has happend but, slowly things have got worse. I am now at a point where i dont seem to have any feelings at all, i just dont care what happens, i used to be so lively and full of happiness, now i just want to Lie in a dark room and cry for no aparant reason. I have just lost the will, not to mention all my friends and family. Could anyone please help me i really feel that i need to talk to somebody about my problems before i do something stupid, but i cant afford to pay for help.

Any advise would be so helpful.

Thank you.

Hi Daz606,

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum. I am going to post a couple of free sites for you to check out.  I think that they might help you.

I have gotten feedback on both of these sites and many have said that they have helped them.  Also there is a book called "feeling good" by Dr. David Burns.  It is about Cognative Behavioral Therapy and really does help.  You can pick it up used on Amazon for about six or eight bucks.

Getting though depression is a lot of work.  So if you can in any way see a counselor, it would be a smart move on your part.  Most mental health facilities work on what is called a sliding scale.  Meaning that they only charge what you can afford.  And I am sure that there is one near you that does the same.  Talk to your doctor about that and also get ahole of social services and see what they have to offer you.  If you don't have insurance and don't make much money, you can get help.

Do you have any kids?  Are you married?  How is your life at home, what is that like.  We need a little of your history to help you along.  Know that we are all here for you.

Hugs, Karen

hi daz606. through my dr i am seeing a counsellor at no cost. maybe it is time for an assessment by your dr. depression can be treated in many varoius ways, for some medication and therapy, therapy alone or via other activities alike gym, walking, art, etc. there are support groups in many communities as well. as karen has stated drop by your local mental health centre for more info. know that your a precious human being of this earth daz and that you alone have gifts and talents unique to only you. maybe they are hidden a bit at the moment but with the right treatments they will surely come back!!!! keep posting, we care, jamie.
