Hello anyone...

I have been having a difficult time this past week. I was weaned off effexor and as of yesterday I was put on Prozac and Zyprexa. Does anyone know about this medication? I'm also on gabapentin and vistaril. I am really angry, and want to put my hand thru the window or wall, I want to crawl out of my skin. Then I go to crying. I'm so back and forth so quickly.

I can't go back into the hospital because I'm having surgery next week. I have been diagnosed recently with bipolar 2 w/borderline symptoms. Because of being a recovering addict/alcoholic my doctor won't give me any meds that are addictive....like xanax or ativan.

I'm sorry I just wanted to vent. thank you for listening.

Hi Serenitee,

I am so sorry that you are having such a difficult time. Weaning off effexor is never easy. Do you mind sharing why you are going off of it? I use to be on prozac, it didn't work for me, well, it did, but I had side effects. So I switched to effexor. I have never taken zyprexa. So I don't know anything about it. But when I get a chance, I will read about it.

Try to calm down and relax with your mood. There is no reason for the anger, that I know of. Try to think of the peacefulness that your name sounds like. I have gotten as angry as you are, but I was fighting with my late husband at the time. All you get out of it is sore knuckles, broken if you are too angry. So try not to do it, there are other ways of releasing emotions. I highly suggest that you see a counselor to get yourself feeling okay. Are you seeing anybody now? I take xanax and have never thought of it as addicting, but it helps an anxiety condition that I have. It just calms me down. Though I have heard of people abusing it. I guess it has that potential.

I hope that you get your moods under control and feel better soon. Know that we are always here for you.

Hugs, Karen

zyprexa (olanzapine) is an anti-psychotic and will calm you very quickly. it is very sedating. i have been on it. can decrease libido in some, increase in others and you can want to eat on it. not everyone goes through these i might add. hoping you feel better soon. it is a popular med for personality disorders, in particular borderline personality disoder. give it a chance, with compassion, jamie.
