Has anyone had memory loss/issue after stopping a medication such as antidepressant or mood med? I have had about 3-4 situations where I totally go blank -- I was in the store to get dish soap and breakfast bars, and when I reached the laundry soap isle TOTAL BLANK.  I knew I was in there for something but I was totally blank....I looked around and tried to remember and finally I remembered the dish soap!  Such a weird feeling!

Any help is appreciated!

I have fibromyalgia and I get what is called "fibrofog". I forget what I am saying in the middle of a sentence. Or walk into a room and forget what I went in there for. It is really frustrating. But I find this happens when I have a lot on my mind. Is that maybe the case with you? Do you have more on your mind than usual? I have to write a list whenever I go to the store. And lists all over the house to remind me of things. Though I am getting older and some of that falls into play, but yeh, I have memory issues. But not because of stopping a medication. I have to take medications to stop my thinking process down to normal. I was an obsessive thinker.

Are you going to mention this to the doc? If you do, let us know what they say. I hope that this finds you having a good day.

Hugs, Karen

Thank you!! I have only experienced the "blank memory" for the past several days, that is why it is so weird to me, I am only 30 and I did not think my memory would start to go so quickly! But I did look up online and "confusion, memory loss" are associated with Paxil withdrawal....fun, fun!

Atleast you have an explanation for it now. I am glad. It can worry a person when their memory gets bad. If you continue having the problem, there is an herb called Ginko Biloba. It is good for memory. It takes a couple of months to start working though and your problem is probably temporary. Let's hope anyway.

Have a great evening.

Oh yes, I have so much going on mentally that I HAVE to hope and pray that all these symptoms are from the paxil w/d and will go away, if they dont we will have to do something in the future about it, but I will keep praying for the symptoms/feelings to go away, I am determined to be healed and stable...thanks for your help!!
