I have tried everything, and can't get into for a medication evaluation until July. My thearapist suggested I get into my family dr within the next 2 days. I am also suffering from greif and loss as well as stress and anxiety. I feel horrible today,I can't think,I'm sick to my stomach, and i am a pure mess. Any suggestions on what i could possibly ask my dr to put me on?

I feel I am coming out of my skin today :-(

AP76,

There are a lot of new antidepressants and mood stabilizers out there now. I suggest maybe asking your doc if you could start on one. You may need a mood elevator. If you are really down. If you are suffering from grief, give it time. There are no rights or wrongs with grief and sometimes it takes awhile. Try to embrace it and see what happens. If you need to cry, let it out. You will feel better that way. Know we are all concerned about you and wish you well. Take care, and keep posting.

Hugs, Karen

Thank you Karen. I've tried every SSRI, and then some. I don't know what to possibly suggest to my dr. I'm not sure if I've ever been on a mood stabilizer. Do you know if they have horrible side effects? Or if they do actually work?

I take abilify along with pristiq. They work really well together. Abilify is the mood stabilizer. I have had no side effects from either one. Abilify is expensive though if you don't have insurance. The copays are high even if you do. But it is really a good medication for stabilizing the moods. I hope that you find what works for you. I believe pristiq is an ssni. Best wishes to you.
