adult needs help!

I have been facing a lot of problems in my life since childhood..My mom died when I was 3 months old, my father left me and became a drug addict and I was brought up by my father's sister whose husband did not love me since I was a kid. I know how I have been living such a tough life and now when I am in PG college .I had joined nlp training after reading some article on internet that how you can be successful and happy in your life. I completed my training as NLP practitioner but sharing the truth here- I have the same problems in my life right now as they were before NLP training.
I never made conversation with my Uncle,never received loved from him,my father went to rehab and is now separately living alone. He got remarried but separated from his wife cause she turned into a ********** while he was in rehab..His children from my step mother are in orphanage homes.
I am totally depressed in life.
I am still struggling with life and career. I am 26years old..I dont get proper sleep at nights sometimes I am awake whole night thinking about my past and my childhood that did not go well.please help me :(

Hi Sammy2112,

Welcome to the depression forum. We can't change what other people do in life but we have control of ours. I really think you need counseling. You need to get over your past and concentrate on your future with goals and your carreer. It sounds like you are very smart and could do pretty much anything that you put your mind to. I bet I am right about that. So try to live in the moment with some thinking of what it is that you want to do. This is your life. You can make it what you want. Please do see a counselor. They can help you to deal with your past and then put it behind you, then work on your future goals. You are still young and could have a great future ahead of you. Think about it.

Do keep posting and let us know how you are doing and feeling. You might want to talk to a doctor about your sleep situation. We need rest to be able to process our days. We also need to eat properly. And get exercise. Try to go for a walk and get some sunshine. It really clears the head and makes you feel better. I walk whenever possible.

hi sammy jamie here, hi. i am in long term therapy, best move i ever made, and therapy i feel will help you with tools and ideas about dealing with your past present and future. i agree with karen about seeing the doctor regarding your sleep disturbance, i am a long term insomniac, something i would not give to my worst enemy!!!! no enemies anyway!!!! but there are effective treatments available. please remember that you are a precious human being of this earth with gifts and talents unique to only you!! keep strong and keep posting, welcome. jamie
