when my mom was 16 she was raped and had me. and she dont know alot about my real dad all she knows is his name and hes either in jail for molesting a 5 year old girl or dead. and she told me all that she knows about him. and my step dad, morgan has always been there for me him and my mom is divorced but he still claims me as his actual daughter. i visit him on weekends i even call him my dad. have yall heard that new song "you can let go now daddy" by crystal shawanda? well it got me thinkin about my real dad and i wanna know who he is ive googled him and everything but couldnt find him. well morgan used to be a prison guard and now hes a cop and he could probly help me find my dad but i dont want to upset him asking him to look up my real dad for me. what should i do? how could i ask my dad to look up my real dad for me? or should i just not say anything?

I wonder if you could talk to him about it without hurting his feelings. Or maybe you could wait a couple years until you are 18, I just don't know what would be the right thing in this situation. I didn't know my real dad. Met him once and he said "they say your mine". He ended up wanting money. lol... So I didn't see him again after that. My grandfather was my dad. But he died when I was young so it was hard not having a father figure anymore. You have a good father figure. You are lucky. I wouldn't look for my dad, but it is your choice. I was very disappointed, I hope you aren't. But if he raped your mom, I wouldn't want to see him. That is just my opinion. Best wishes with what ever you choose. Know that we are behind you.

Sounds like you got a real good step dad, and I can understand you wanting to
find your real dad, but are you truly ready to handle what your real dad might
be like...maybe you should wait for now, so I agree with Getting by/Karen, she
knows a lot and has offered up great advise...well wishes in what you choose to do
and keep us posted...
