Hello

I'm trying to write an article about mental illnesses, epically about depression and it's types since it have the most cases. But the thing is I really never wrote an actual article, and this article should go to our local newspaper and I don't just want to write anything down because people gonna read this and it should be helpful for them. So I just need facts, do anyone know sites that have facts and studies that are reliable that I can use as a back up? I heard the old statistic that "in every five people one of them will experience depression or other forum of mental illnesses" but I keep reading other versions of this statistic and not sure witch one is correct one. And I'm not even sure if that statistic meant the regular depression that comes with situations or such like when some women who gave birth goes throe it or the clinic depression type.

Thank you just for your time.

I don't know if anybody here is going to want to share their personal expiences knowing that you are going to publish this article. I don't even know if this is an ethicle topic here. This forum is for support for eachother.

Wait, I think you misunderstanding me here, I did not ask for any personal information or anything like that, I asked if anyone know a reliable medical websites that have statistics regarding depression and mental illnesses. I don't want to write just any article without proper understanding and that's why I asked here if anyone know a good medical websites that can help me with solid statics and such. If I was not putting an effort for it then I could just searched the internet instead for whatever medical website I come cross instead of asking here, but I asked because I want a reliable website to have a proper understanding.

The last thing I want is to hurt anyone feelings here since I'm a patient myself. I have Crohn's and HCV, and I suffer side effects from HCV's meds and part of the side effects is depression, so their is no way I'm being insensitive here because I know how it feels. But if I said something wrong in my older post then I apologize and please go ahead and delete this topic if you think it's wrong.

P.S. And I'm not writing a medical research as much as I'm writing an article about mental health awareness and it's stigma.

Oh thank you. Now that I think about it I think my post maybe was not well put, so I'm sorry about that.

I just opened the depression resources page and I'll check it out, thanks for mentioning it. I just hope I can find reliable statistics and numbers.

Hugs, Muhammed

P.S. Not it's fine dear, thank you for your kind thoughts. And I'm sorry you have your share of illnesses as well. I pray we all get better.
