hi all, i'm not new to the forum my name is tryn2getby,,,, went to the drs. today and he changed my med to oxcarbazepine. i was on lamictal, but mouth broke out with sores, so it was not a compatable drug for me. but when i got home and looked up this new med. it said it was for epilepsy siezures. please forgive my spelling. it's late and i'm too lazy right now to look up every word. been up half the night wondering and worrying about this new medication which i'm afraid to take. i don't have elpilepsy and i'm not suffering from siezures. just severe depression and anxiety. is any one out there on this medication? if so please let me know. thanks. have a nice day, and keep on posting. redface

Often meds like that work as antidepressants. Such as topamax, I believe is for seizures too and works well for the mind. I would try the medication and see if it helps you. It is for the brain, so it should work. Give it a try, and if it sin't right for you, then stop it. With doctor's approval of course.

Best wishes for feeling better.

Hugs, Karen
