I live with a mother with depression and severe form of anxiety that affects me and everyone else in my family emotionally. I am 16. Life is just so hard I have to worry about school, my own well being, and my mother while dealing with her mental illness. I see others and their lives and notice how perfect their lives are compared to mine. One with stable finances, a great family, and support from other friends. Oppposed to me where my family trouble with finances everyday and me having to treat my mother have drawn me away from some of my closest friends and it seems I have no one to talk to anymore. Life just seems so hopeless. I don't know how I'm going to live like this.

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Sweetie, life is not perfect. And it is true that the grass always looks greener. But we are all dealt different cards in life. I know what you are going through. My mother was mentally ill and raised a lot of disturbance in the family. To be honest I was a little embarrassed of her. She was mean, would want to fight. It was hard for me. She was in a mental institution for years and then came home. I did not know what to do. I took refuge in a friend. She kept me sane. I loved my mom, but she was so selfish. Finances can be hard. But you will get through this. It will make you a strong person. I am glad you posted here. Keep posting.

OK, think positively. Two more years and you can get out of that situation. Remember perfectionism is a disease, nothing is perfect, but if we try hard enough it can be darn good! I am sure it is hard at your age to deal with a parent that is probably acting like a little child. Not your fault. Try to keep it together and remember she is not your soul responsibility. Taking care of yourself is your responsibility.

Take care,
