So I haven't started my anti-depressants yet (Valdoxan) ....too scared of the side effects....  but my Crohns symptoms cannot improve when I'm depressed.
Yesterday we had a consultation meeting with my physicologist, my physiciatrist and my husband.  They both explained to us that since I suffer from depression, I have to get started with the meds, in order to see improvement, and also in order for the physicologist to be able to help me during our discussions...
On the way home, my husband told me that he was sorry he didn't realise how bad I was, and he said I should get started with the meds in order for all of us (including our children) to start being happy again.
So I guess that's the update....
Still feeling miserable, still want to sleep all the time....
Bye for now,

Best to get started on the right medication, Christina. Sometimes, taking it with a little food helps stop any digestive irritation. Remember to drink plenty of water while you are taking anti-depressant medications.

Good luck on improving your health; results vary on a time schedule--some meds act quickly; others will take a few weeks for you to feel the full beneficial effects. Don't give up. They will work in time.

Take care of yourself.
