Hi everyone,
I was put onto Trazodone antidepressants y-day, after trying loads of different ones.
I took my first one last night, it made me feel really ill.
I had to get up during the night & my head was spinning, it felt like my heart was in my throat & I felt really sick.
I eventually got to sleep and slept like a log, but this morning when I got up I had a really bad hangover feeling, I've got a banging headache, my head is all over the place & I'm getting really lightheaded, even if I stand up really slowly I'm still getting really lightheaded, to the point where I can't see nothing because everything goes black.

Has anybody had the same thing when taking these tablets or anyone have any advice for me?

My husband takes trazadone to sleep at night. I think the first couple nights is hard, but once it gets in your system, it is better. Give it a chance, and if the hangover feeling doesn't go away in a few days, call you doc. You might need a different med. But I heard it is a good med. Has been around for awhile now.

Best wishes,

Hugs, Karen

Thankyou Karen, I'm hoping it will get better, but if I'm still having probs with them after a few days, then I'll go back to the gp.

Thanks again

I see that you have fibromyalgia also. It is difficult to have so much wrong with us. I have fbd and low vit D also. The doc put me on 50,000 iu a week for a month. Am feeling a little better at times.

I sure do hope that the trazadone works for you.

Amz24,

Hello, I'm Serenitee, I read your post when I saw it was on Trazadone. I too, am taking Trazadone for sleep. I was wondering what mg you are taking, as maybe its too much for you starting on it? I started with 25mg, then 50mg, and now 100mg every night. If I take it too late then I do kind of struggle the next day, so I make sure I take it early enough. The only side-effect that I really notice with it is very vivid and real nightmares, however, when I go off of it I just don't sleep well anyway. So I have decided to continue taking it for the benefits of a nights sleep.

I hope you can get it figured out and working for you.

Amz24,

I am so happy to hear that you are feeling better. I hope that the trazadone works for you... Like I said my husband takes one at night to sleep on. His mood has been better too and his energy is good. He takes 50mg once a day. I am happy that he is doing better. As we have had a lot go on this year and it has been stressful.

Take care, have a wonderful day!!!

Hugs, Karen
