I was just curious.  It has been in the high 90's for over a week.  We have three more days of this, two of which we may have thunderstorms.  Then it is going to cool down to 79 degrees.  I have been stuck inside.  Staying cool.  Been on the computer a lot.  Should be at the lake if I had a brain I would be.

Take care all, stay cool!!!

Temperatures here are in the high nineties--expecting to hit over 100
degrees today.

I'm not sticking my nose out the door 'til this cools off!

I feel the same way IG. When you do, the heat hits you right in the face. Not nice at all. I just can't wait for it to cool down.

Stay cool, have a great day.

I hate the heat. I'm the only person I know who prefers winter of this stuff. :P

I've been staying inside as much as I can, just trying to relax. We were supposed to have our power turned off in the entire town, so they could repair the electric station--in this heat!! My dad and some others complained that it would be really risky, because they said the power would be out from 8am until 1 or 2 pm! Luckily, they decided to postpone it for now. lol!

The whole United States weather map looks as if it's plastered with red for Heat! It will break 100 degrees here in North Carolina for sure today. I'm sewing (to stay indoors), making some slacks, but may cut them off for shorts if this keeps up!

We need some rain or a cold front--no hurricanes, please.

My first husband (deceased) was from North Carolina. I still stay in touch with some of his relatives. I don't blame you for making shorts instead of slacks. lol... Good idea for this weather.

Hope that you are having a good day IG.

Take care,

Here in Texas (Houston Area) it's usually in the 100's from end of May thru October,
so it's just best to stay indoors and cool and plan on when your going to do laundry.
For cold wash Items I have to wake up at 4-5 a.m. for the cooler water...
the other items get washed after 7 p.m. as to not heat up the house when you
have to use the dryer...and when it's really humid you have to stay on top the wash
to bring the close in from the dryer asap...
But our Winter's are nicer than Florida's mostly...

I wonder if your heat is dryer than ours or not. Inland maybe? Yeah, I don't like cooking until after the sun goes down. That is when I need to cook outside.

I bet you have wonderful winters.

Hi Wife#3...

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum... I am glad that you have joined us. Normally I would say try to push yourself a little, but if you are having intense heat, you want to stay indoors where it is cool. But when the heat dies down some, try to get out and do things. I walk and I find that it gives me energy plus makes me feel better mentally.

I find that I am home a lot too. I just don't like going anywhere. But I am content with that. I do have days where I know it would be good for me so I push myself and go visit somebody. But it is hard. It takes me 30 minutes just to go out the door. I am such a hermit. Or recluse.

There is this dirtbike that goes up and down the road. Did all day yesterday. I just heard it again. It is so annoying it goes really fast and is loud. I don't mean to change the topic, but it was in my head.

Do you go to any type of counseling? I highly recommend it. It gets you out of the house and is good for you and your self esteem. I go, it is a long drive too. But I make it. It takes up half of a day to go and come back. Plus the time in the session. But I always feel good when I come back. It is nice to have a sounding board and the feed back. Plus they have an objective view of things. Often we get lost in our own thoughts.

I sure do hope that you feel better soon. Feel free to start a new thread and introduce yourself.

Hugs, Karen

Swimming is actually better than walking I think. You are fortunate to have some where to swim. I have bad knees too, but afraid to do the knee replacement. Hopefully I wont have to, but I do worry about the future. Not good to do.

I hope that you are feeling a little better today.

Take care,

Temperatures in North Carolina have broken all records this last week,
and I think we're headed for more heat. August is usually the hottest month we have in central N.C.

Have finished four pairs of slacks and making two more (to keep indoors out of the heat!). An acquaintance is using the left-overs to make quilts. I'm more tempted to make some cold lemonade.

Keep cool, everyone.

This week it has been cloudy so the temps aren't as high, but it has been humid. We got a few sprinkles earlier, but nothing to write home about.

Lemonade sounds good right now IG. I am going to fix a fresh glass of icewater and lemon wedges. My favorite drink.

Take care all...

Well the weather is cool as its mansoon time so city is green just that life is a bit upsetting. But i am sure tempratues from your part of the country will improve shortly - nothing stays forever.

To kill time - try baking something in a solar cooker.

We had some well needed rain last night and yesterday. Cloudy today so far, but it is early yet. Got up at six. We are suppose to cool off, but it still feels humid. But cooler temps will help. Will be autumn soon here. Looking forward to that.

My favorite season, just don't like winter.

I live in So Cal desert and it was so hot the other day I couldn't breathe. 100+ and a little humid. I get to be indoors most of the time though, some parts of my day I have to be in hot rooms, like tonight I will work in a place where it will be gross-hot. My house is cool though.
