I dont think that I have ever had such a terrible weekend and for that matter month.  I know that we cant truly state how depressed we are feeling on here but I am sick and tired for real...of every day waiting to feel better.  I see my doc on tuesday and I am demanding DBS and nothing else wil do!  I want to be one of those happy people instead of waiting on things or people to "fix" me! I want to be happy so others can be happy with me too.  Sooo Sick of this!

HI Teresa,

I am sorry that you had a bad weekend. I hope that the doc listens to you and does what you ask. Dumb question... What is DBS? Have you mentioned it before? I hope that it works for you. I know you have been struggling for a long time. Know that we are all right here behind you Teresa.

Hugs, Karen

Hi Teresa. I'm sorry to hear that you still haven't been well. I just looked up DBS on the internet and it was defined as Deep Brain Stimulation, where an electrical brain stimulator is placed into your brain (similar to a pacemaker for a heart.) I saw that it has been done mainly for Parkinson's Disease but is now being used for Chronic Pain and Major Depression. ....Is this what you are referring to?

This looks like a risky procedure. Please make sure you are fully informed by your doctor. Like everyone else, I want to see you well. But it might be useful to get some more information first.

Good luck with your upcoming appointment and my thoughts will be with you.

Cass

Thank you all 4 your feedback.  Yes, DBS is a highly invasive procedure but I have been doing the mental health thing 4 so long that i have already had vns(vagus nerve stimulation) which was a waste and i still have it and cant get it removed.  I cant continue to live on good thoughts and hopes.  I have actually started a walking regiment and eating better but to no avail.  i really need this DBS and will not settle 4 any other treatment anymore.  Some consider that giving up but with my history, my patients are no longer there.

My strength has turned to anger and I am without feeling anymore.

I dont even feel like Teresa anymore.

Thanks Cass for the info on DBS, I'll hope that you can get in on the clinical
trials for this Teresa, Maybe see about getting in the clinical trials first to see
if it can truly help, How soon before you can get this done? and make sure
you know all the risks involved, okay...

I have had depression for so long happiness isnt just a word but a lifestyle of which I truly believe I have never experienced.

Depression has robbed me of employment, love and dignity and just the general ability to function.

At this point in my life I am convinced that there are very few methods to help me and I am growing tired of trying.

Aww Teresa,

I hope that this new method helps you. Please do keep us posted. You deserve to be happy like everybody does. It is so hard with depression. Especially when you can't find any treatment to help. Know that you are a wonderful person and very much loved here.

Take care my friend.

Hold on, Teresa, and please go ahead with the deep brain stimulation
and know that the doctors know what they are doing and will give
you the best medical care possible. Have you ever had shock treatments for depression? They were effective years ago, as I recall.

The rising anger may be a blessing in disguise because it's your brain telling you that it's fighting for you and whatever it is that is making you so angry.  It's a healthy thing, Teresa, that's happening.

My prayers are with you.

I.G.
