I would like to introduce myself. :-)
My name is Vicoden *yes, misspelled wrong, its a nickname of mine* and im 17, and i have been having a hard time for quite some time now.
There have been some crazy things that have gone on in my life, but i really want to work them out. like, my depression, for one. ive been diagnosed wiht 2 types of depression, Manic, and Chronic, and it just wont go away.
To be honest, there are times where ive just thrown i nthe towel and not gotten out of bed, and just cried and blew off college and my job, but i dont want this to be who i am, i want to get past this and be happy, so i just wanted to say that....so, um, i hope you dont find me too crazy to be on here, and i hope i like it here!

Hi Vicoden,

Welcome to the HealingWell Depression forum. You have come to a good place. Have you tried talking to a school counselor? It can really help. As young as you are, hopefully you can get by with counseling. But having manic depression really needs medications. So talk with your counselor and go from there. You can get this under control and live a happy life.

I have had many days where I didn't get out of bed. But I don't have schooling of a job to worry about. I lost my business due to fibromyalgia and depression and was in bed for almost two years. I missed out on a lot of living. I don't want to see this happen to you. So be proactive, get some counseling, determine if you need meds and get yourself staight. You can be happy. Learning is a challenge. Learn as much as you can while you are young and can retain information and use it to your advantage.

Keep posting and know that everybody here cares about you.

Hugs, Karen

Hi Vicoden

I think many of us share your same sentiment - To want to get past this and be happy. Welcome. This is a great place.

Yes, it is more than likely the bipolar causing you to feel this way. Go to the doctor, and ask for help. Hon, you are not alone. Always tlak to us too.

A good doctor can help you to feeling more normal, so if you can find someone
if not then on campus services should help some until you finish up and
graduate, then maybe once you got a good job you can seek out the better
doctors...like the others have said many have felt like you, we want to be normal,
too, but once you find the right doctor hopefully you get more of a normal world.
Hope this makes sense and helps...many well wishes to you and I hope you
find what you are seeking...

Talk to an adult you trust...today. You don't sound crazy at zall, just in pain like the rest of us.

PLEASE talk to someone..my daughter is 15 and I started seeing signs that reminded me of me . sHE COULDN'T VERBALIZE IT REALLY, SHE JUST CRAWLED IN BED WITH ME AND SAID"mAMA, I'M SAD, i'ALWAYS SAD. i'M TIRED OF BEING TIRED AND CRABBY AND NOT CARING about OTHER PEOPLE' (SORRY FOR CAPS-SUCH A KLUTZ) and I'm so proud of her for that...talk to your mom or dad or uncle or teacher...they will be glad to help. This is supposed to be one of the best times of your life0let's start working on that, ok?
