well i am a proud momma. all the hard work we have put into teaching my daughter and all her hard work and she has been nominated for the gifted program. so now she will be tested and if she passes those tests she will be put into the gifted class where she will learn harder work. she is working at a higher level than her peers and so she will be taught that. that will pave her way to a better education, possibly graduating early and even scholarships when she gets to  high school. granted she is only in the third grade but this is an honor.

Way to go..My daughter was also in the gifted/talent classes and then in High School they are
just called advanced placement classes....There are several ways she could go in High school
but let that be her decision, like either advanced classes, college classes or dual credit.
but a big woohoo for now and I hope she gets properly placed, and it's a total
different classroom setting as well as the gifted kids usually come in wanting to learn.
Hope you have a great week...But as for scholarships there is only the one for graduating early.
The SAT and ACT scholarships are so so depending on the awards, and you do have to pay
taxes on scholarship monies...My daughter has a free ride as she is a national merit finalists, but
we have to pay taxes on part of that...wish it did not have to be taxed at all.
Well wishes to you and keep us posted...

oh i dont care about the taxes but if she can get a scholarship that would be great. who knows maybe she will learn a lot and do so well she gets a scholoarship for something else. i just want her to get a good education.

You're a good mother, Worried Girl, and that's one important reason why
your daughter is excelling academically so early in her life. Keep up the
good work!

Intellectual ability is truly one of the blessings of life. Check into it on some of the internet sites on giftedness in children. See if any are applicable to your little one. She may have some special areas of interest that you could enhance for her, such as reading, writing, drawing, etc., by supplying additional materials. They are often very sensitive people, too, and respond
to positive attitudes quite well.

Take care.
