Here's the thing about our efforts to help others:

1.  We can compete or we don't have to compete.  (The other
method is to co-operate with people, which everybody tries
     to do, don't you think?)

2.  People don't enjoy hearing the negative repeated over and
over again.  (Though we have to share that when we try
to let people know what's happening inside us, and it's our
desire to help alleviate that in our friends on board.)

3.  The positive view will draw friends to us and strengthen our
feelings in a pleasant way, and it's definitely the acceptable social
      way to behave.

I hope today and every day will be peaceful and positive for us.

I'm ordering a book on good manners for myself today.

Take care, and keep in touch.

This is just a post to try to pick up peoples moods. The poster is trying to make a positive post. I don't think anybody is happy ALL of the time. Not even undepressed people.

The book is titled good manners, I have never read it, but it could pertain to depression. There are many depressed people who are rude and defensive just like "normal" people. They don't aways bit theit tongues. Whether they are depressed or not. I have seen many in this world who are angry all the time. You know that they aren't happy, and they could vert well be depressed too.

A little pleasantness and optimism goes a long way here. You will see this from time time, people share what they write and what makes them happy, hoping it will make somebody else happy. Maybe they are just having a good day after a long time of being down. I don't see where anything was removed. It still says alls well that ends well.

There is no pressure here. If you don't like the thread, don't read on it. Nobody is pressuring you to read anything you don't want to. But there are going to be positive posts here as it makes people feel good. So if you plan on staying, get use to it. We have enough negativity in our lives. So be ready for more positive posts.

I don't think that the post is saying don't be negative, but it may be saying try to be positive which is okay here.

I must say that I've never heard of Shakespearian quotations as a form of cliche.

My experience has been that the most highly educated people have
usually been people of gentleness and politeness. Only one lawyer
that I have known has been arrogant or tried to attack integrity; when faced with the truth he shut up rather quickly. Others have always been excellent examples of discipline and respect.

I'm afraid you have misunderstood both the purpose and meaning of
my post. You see, we had a situation days ago in which one person had been recognized by several moderators as being disrespectful, defensive, and arrogant and was within days banned from the forum.
Members before you entered the forum were all aware of the situation.
You were not, but read into my post things that might have pertained to you which actually had nothing to do with you at all.

Dear Rubinsays

You missed the "incident". There are times when we all lose our patience and become rude or hostile or intolerant. And we are certainly not saying think positive and it'll be all roses. But, we do try to stay kind (if not happy). We are all very complex very different depressed souls-lots of personalities here and even if I disagreee with someone, I try to do it respectfully...we are not a bunch of POllyannas, but I try to keep hope alive.

Stick around, try to not jump to conclusions with us, it's a complex society we have here-lol
