Hi all, I am a newbie here. I have been battling depression on and off for about the last 4 months. Was hospitalized in April for a MDD episode. Since then, depression seems to come and go, weekends are the worst as I wind up spending a lot of time alone. I don't want to do this but it seems impossible for me to get out much. I just want to stay inside, alone.

The reason for this post is a problem I'm having at work. One of the bosses there gets very upset and angry and takes it out on people, including me. It has gotten to the point that I dread going to my job and spend a lot of time while I am there being afraid of him. I should note here I have a history of abuse and also of being bullied.

I am thinking maybe on Monday I will speak to someone else at work about the way this man is treating me.

Meanwhile this weekend I can't seem to stop obsessing about the problem.

Thanks for listening. yeah

Hi Display,

I am sorry for your situation at work. I hope that you can change it. Try to get your mind off of work for the weekend. Give yourself permission to think of other things. Get lost in a movie, something. The more you think about it, the worse that it is going to seem. You will be nervous when you go in and that will make things harder to deal with.

I hope that you feel better soon.

Welcome to the forum, I almost forgot.

Hugs, Karen

Hi display
welcome to the forum...we are always here to listen and it sure has helped me knowing there are people that know how I feel. I've been hospitalized and hospitalized myself several times. Usually it involves a med change. What kind of meds are you taking?

Your situation at work is tricky. Do your co-workers feel the same way? If there are more people that feel that way, it will be easier to fix it.

As Karen said, go to a movie. I go buy a new book for the weekends or sometying fun to cook. That gets me out of the house and then I don't have to feel so guilty-lol!

Keep posting and let us know how you are doing

Take care

Maggie

Thanks BayouB and Karen.

I got some family support today, which helped my mood. I am still thinking about going to work tomorrow, and concerned about the fear which I know will come up.

I should mention that I had a colonoscopy last week, and tomorrow I will get the results. I already know the doctor found polyps, tomorrow I will find out if they were malignant or benign. My sister died a few years ago of colon cancer.

So I guess I am under quite a bit of stress. I'm glad I found this forum, I definitely need to be talking to others who are dealing with depression.

Tonight I will call my counselor and just get some support around the work thing. I also am going to call my psych this week about getting my meds adjusted. I'm way too depressed, considering I am on medication. rolleyes

Yes, do let us know how the results come out. You really want to eat healthy and take care of yourself if this runs in the family. Get tested yearly at least. I know colonscopys are the pits. Especially the prep. But they are worth it.

Keep us posted.
