Hi Everyone,

I have depression, I take 40mg citalopram daily. Work is a bit hectic at the min (nothing new really as I work with children) but this week I have found really hard. Loads of things have changed at work, we have a new boss who is changing the way we work - for the better. The thing is it's all getting a bit much for me. I had been seeing a counsellor for about 5 months but those sessions finished a couple of week ago.

I don't know if my inability to cope with the added pressure at work is because my sessions have ended and I'm having to cope on my own or if I am suffering from stress. I have been feeling very light-headed at work and feeling sick. I'm not 'ill' as in I don't have a stomach bug or a cold but I just have this negative feeling constantly.

I don't want to go to my boss as I don't want him to think that I am not up to the task of doing my job, it's just the atmosphere at work is awful.

Do you have any advice on what I can do about this?

Many Thanks x

Can you start your sessions up again?

It is always hard when we get a new boss and they start changing things. But you will get use to it and go with the flow. It is just overwhelming at the time. You did say he was changing things for the better, so it should all fall into place eventually.

Keep posting, there will be others with other ideas. If you can't go back to counseling, there are a couple of free sites that might help you.

A lot of members like the moodgym. There is also a book on cbt that might help you called "feeling good" by doctor David Burns. It is a really good self help book.

I hope that you feel better soon. And incase this is your first visit here, welcome...

Take care,
Keep posting...
