I'm not sure if I already posted this but I had a second sleep study this week.  The first was in the spring but the neurologist wasn't convinced with the data so he wanted me to have one again only this time using the CPAP mask.  I had been dreading it because I didn't sleep last time and it took days to get back  on track.
This time was different.  They had me sleep with the CPAP mask and it made a world of difference.  I woke up early and was alert and not anxious. yeah.  Took a shower and went home.  I did go back to bed once I got home but just for a few hours and not all day as I did with the first one.
I spoke with the neurologist today and he said it would take two weeks to get the results.  I was in tears because I think I have found something to help me and I have to wait another two weeks which seems like an eternity right now.  I told him it needs to happen faster than that and he said he would see what he could do.

I'm ready to have that CPAP machine now so I can start feeling better and rested.  Small steps to getting healthy.

Hang in there...does he have the sleep lab on his premises? Mine did and it did not take that long. I started wearing a cpapc and have had a hard time with it b/c of claustrophobia...I wake up ripping it off my face-lol. I think it was beginning to help cause I stopped and I feel like poo now. Alot of patients told me it was like a new lease on life-I hope that holds true for you.

I would call back ina week maybe and push alittle...I understand what the value of a good night's sleep is-we could all use one

Good luck
Maggie

Maggie, I felt that way when I tried it on for the first time but this time when I had to where it all night I was fine. I had the one that just covered my nose. I felt great just breathing better. I was so surprised. I will keep on my doc because I think its going to make life much more enjoyable.

I think I will go back to the nasal and mouth mask too-that full face is too close fopr me

I hope this does it for you-so much depression is due to a lack of "refreshing" sleep.

You go girl!

Got a call from my neurologist today that he got the results from my sleep study and is sending off the rx for my cpap machine. Its going to be delivered to my house. I guess he understood the urgency to get going with this so I can better again. I know its not going to happen over night but it gives me hope that I can feel good again. I also think the steady breathing is probably good for the anxiety because I didn't feel anxious when I woke up from the study.

Great news cookie

I know there are other issues to deal with, but CPAP is a really good start. Yaaah! Doc was on the ball!!

Its funny because now I'm like my son when he is waiting for a package and can't wait for this thing to show up. The company will come and fit the mask so I will get the one I liked during the study. Wish they could have sent me home with a machine that day. It helps to know there is light at the end of the tunnell. I'm hoping I won't have the severe depression as often. That has been my quest to figure out the things that precipitate these depressions so I can be a much stronger person and mom.

thanks.

I hope that you get your cpap machine soon. I love waiting or I should say getting things I ordered. I hope that this helps your depression too.
