Hi, Display here.

It's Sunday night and I am having the familiar dread of the work week approaching. Especially for me because I am unemployed and will be looking for work this week.

I have many tasks ahead of me, and I will just need to take it one day at a time.

Just wanted to check in and say the depression is not as bad. I overslept a lot today and i know that's not good, but it often leaves me feeling refreshed.

I have been praying a lot to feel better. I am in a 12-step program (Al-Anon) and I am able to derive some strength from that, sometimes.

Anyway just wanted to say I am here and trying to cope.

Thanks for listening.

:-)

Display,

You are doing all of the right things and accepting your powerlessness over things and handing these things over to your Higher Power is a good thing.

By letting go of the uncontrollables and unchangeables in your life, you allow people, places and things to be responsible for themselves, which takes a tremendous burden off you.

I know you are doing your best and with strength and help of your peers here in the forum you will succeed.

Gentle Hugs,

Kitt

If you feel refreshed after getting a lot of sleep, that isn't a bad thing. When I oversleep I usually feel more tired and unmotivated. You've got to let yourself indulge every now and then, even in sleep.

Glad to hear you have some support from your program, and that things are looking up. Good luck with the job hunt!

Hi Display,

Just wanted to say that I am glad that you are in the program. This should really help you. It sounds like you are feeling a little okay and that is good. Keep your chin up. Do stay in the moment. Try not to project into the future and worry. It just depletes your energy. I have a therapist appointment on Tuesday and it makes me anxious when I think about it because it is such a long drive to see her. But I don't think about it until the time comes. It just isn't worth worrying. I would be so full of anxiety if I let myself do that. I keep busy and forget about it. Enjoy the moment that you are in.

I'm also an Al-Anoner. After increasing my medication a little I started to feel a little better. I wasn't feeling to good about Al-Anon for a while until I realized one day at a time or an hour at a time could be a big help. I'm feeling quite a bit of gratitude and relief with the results. My Dr. gave her blessing for me to join a depression forum.

The AA programs are terrific, my sister and cousins are all members...my sis sober 26 years..I have uesed those principles in other areas of my life and try everyday to let go. That is hard to stop worrying and put it in His hands, but I keep trying...
