I've been dealing with so many issues and a recent situation has brought stress and self hatred to an all time high....

But I wanted to say I just started doing yoga the other day, I bought an instructional dvd at the store...and though I've only done it twice I've noticed wonderful effects already. I have a awful issue with a sense of unbalance in my life and maybe some of you do too. There's the outer part of me, that loves to be social and nice most of the time, but inside I have all these feelings of doubt, sadness, anger and confusion. Yoga is supposed to be the unity of mind and body, so I think it could do wonders for me and this feeling of being torn.

Just thought I'd recommend this to others :) I'm so depressed I haven't wanted to go to an actual yoga class yet, but even doing the dvd at home has been nice and I hope it continues to help :)

Yeah I do guided imagery or visualization andprogressive muscle relaxation...used to do it, stopped now back doing these. Oh and deep breathing. And prayer and-lol!! Itried a yoga class but because of my herniated discs, it just hurt too badly BUT it is a godsend for alot of people.

We have to center ourselves and go in deeper past the physical shell and draw strength from the mind and soul where beauty and peace live..IG talks of an inner child and I think some of these techniques help us access that.

I did my visualization yesterday of my safest happiest place and time and after awhile all i could see were moments of simple joyful moments with loved ones, like a movie and I came out of it calm...really amazing stuff

Anyway, yoga or whatever we can do to rise up out of the morass is a terrific thing..Good luck elfen

I am so happy that the yoga is helping you. I meditate, which is also mind and body connection. It really helps me. I would try yoga, but don't know if I can get into those positions. lol... But I think being the same principle, mind and body, they both work wonders.

Keep up the good work. I am glad you are seeing results so quickly.

Hugs to you,

Karen
