Lately i have been feeling like i need a lot of space to think and need i isolate myself from everyone around me. I used to really feel like i had a place in this world but in the last maybe 3 years, more and more i am feeling like i dont belong and dont know what to do with myself. I have alot of great friends and even some very close friends i have known almost my whole life. I have a wonderful family that loves me. I recently got my degree and now have a great job that pays well.

The feelings that i am having just dont make sense. How can i get out of this downward cycle.

Hi Dalso,

Welcome to the depression forum. I am glad that you have joined us. Actually you have a lot of accomplishments. It is sad that you are feeling down. It could be the season. Days are getting shorter and the holidays can be stressful. I would recommend seeing a counselor. You might even need some medication to get things going again. It doesn't sound like you have reason to be depressed, so it could be a chemical embalance. I really would talk to somebody and get it under control before it gets harder to treat. You could be catching this early.

I did want to say congratulations on getting your degree. What is it in? What kind of a job do you have? I am very happy for you.

Hugs, Karen

Hi Dalso....Welcome to hw forum. I agree with Karen, you should get this checked...you can catch this early and nip it in the butt. Congrats on getting your degree and the great job. Right on what a great accomplishment. Look after this now and I believe you will have a very full and happy life. I will keep you in my prayers.

Take care, Amy

Thanks guys, I appreciate the encouragement. I really am starting to wonder if it is a chemical imbalance since I'm pretty sure this mildly runs in my family.

I got my degree in graphic design and now work as a web designer at a university and I love it and everyone I work with. This is a major reason why I'm so frantic to get out of this train of thinking. I have noticed I am more frequently falling into these low times and I'm afraid it is starting affect me at work. Simple things lately have been very difficult for me.

For some reason, lately, my thinking just switches and I question whether I am in the right place in life and whether all my hard work is even worth it in the long run. My emotions are very rollercoastery and I just really need to get it under control.

Thanks again

You love what you do. I am into art, but I am a surrealist. I paint on canvas. I think what you are doing is so cool. Yes, see somebody, don't let this interfere with your life and progress. Most of all your happiness.

We believe in you. Talk to a counselor and get this in check. Or your family doctor.
