Hey guys, starting Paxil 20mg today... also the meds for my bronchitis so I will physically be feeling better soon :) Years ago, my lexapro used to really tear my stomach up, so I hope that is not the case with this one. Apparently Paxil is good for the OCD? We shall find out!

Still struggling physically with the anxiety (lots of throwing up still) but I have been getting more sleep. Not continuous sleep, but sleep! I am hopeful that once the Paxil works on the obsessive thoughts, it will kick in with the anxiety too. By that time though, it will be time to see the dr again and she has already suspected we will add Xanax. Doesn't it have a bad reputation for addiction???

I have therapy tonight so it will be good to be out of town. Also, I think I have made a new friend. He lives in the building next to mine and doesn't know many people around here. I'm not sure if we will be friends, but I have heard he is struggling with a break up as well. Either way, I think it will be nice to have someone to chat with once in awhile, plus it's good to have a guy close to home! If something goes wrong with the apartment, now I have someone I can ask for help!

Thanks for all the support. Please keep it coming. Got a long road ahead of me, but I think I'm on the right track.

I think you are on the right track too Courtney. I have been taking xanax for about 20 years or more. I use to take 4 mg a day, now I take one. So I don't think it was addictive for me. If you need help with anxiety, it is a good med. So don't be afraid of it. All it does is take the anxiety away.

Let us know how this goes. Remember it will take a little while for your paxil to start working. Could be six to eight weeks, though you could start feeling better before that.

Good luck Courtney.

Hugs, Karen
