I suffer from depression. I'm on meds. I take zoloft and resperidone. Recenly I increased the reperidone because of an uptick in the depression. Still not good all the time. Today I got a letter from social security with a lower amount stated than I thought I'd get for early retirement. (I hate my job.) I feel overwhelmed. I had other chores to do today, so I can't even call them until Friday, my next day off. Is it common to feel overwhelmed and not feeling like doing much, during a depressive episode? It seems like when I feel good I want to do things and work well getting a list done. On bad days I just do the minimum and try to take a good care of myself as possible. I used to be able to handle almost anything. Now, not so much.

It's normal, (for depression) but it definately doesn't make it feel any better.
I can relate. I used to be able to handle loads of stress and still keep it together. Now I can't seem to handle anything and feel constantly overwhelmed by everything. Everything seems monumental and exhausting. I hope you get your meds sorted and everything works out so that you can still retire early and get back to feeling better.

overwjelmed is the synonym for depression...even the smallest chore is HUGE..procrastination is rampant... Ican lieinbed and look at dust bunnires for weeks-lol. Just try to do one small thing the first day and then increase...I finally keeep up with laundry, dishes and billd but it takes all the will power I have...but it's a good feeling too
