Yah Karen-is it warming up? We had a lovely day andopened the windows to air out this house!

Since I stopped the cymbalta, i have felt sooo much better, even with bronchitis!! My head feels clear and altho I am totally fried from that and fibro fatigue, my mental outlook has improved vastly. I know we are not supposed to stop meds but I ran out and waiting for appt w/ new therapist. I hope I don't crash and burn, but maybe, just maybe I am getting thru this and learning to cope on my own. Do people w/ depression ever stop taking meds with success? Has anyone else improved on their own? Let me know...i feel great mentally, like I came out of a fog...very weird..I just pray it holds

Anyway, good day here, how's everyone else?

Maggie

It might be that you don't need meds anymore. Not everybody with depression has chronic depression. That would be wonderful Maggie! I sometimes think about what would happen if I couldn't get my meds. That scares me. Making me wish I would have never taken the first antidepressant. But I did, so I have to live with that. But seeing you feel this much better gives me hope. I am really happy for you.

The sky is red this evening. I think that means sunshine tomorrow. I hope. Kind of pretty...

yes, I would be perfectly content with reasonably content...I do not feel manic, just more clear-headed, stronger to deal with some crises that are looming...usually that would have thrown me into utter despair...now, I know my husband and I will find a way to deal with that crisis...the worst probably won't happen and that God is always near and hears our prayers...I feel, dare I say it hopeful.....well, I better stop talking about it, I'm silly and don't want to jinx it-lol.

Thanks for the replies and the hope...will keep you posted

Maggie that's wonderful news that you feel better without your med. I sure hope that hangs on for you. How is your daughter doing these days.
Karen, glad you got some sunny weather today. We did as well. Did you get to your appt today?
Joyce you are quite an inspiration. Just having you here keeps us plugging away at the grind every day.
I've felt really blah today and I can't shake it. Chronic pain is such a heavy burden and makes one feel so depressed. Tomorrow is a new day and I'll try again.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

If you watch Grey's Anatomy or Private Practice, they both restart tonight.

Hope everyone has a great day today! Not too much going on here... Dr. appt next week which I think will be good cause I still find myself obsessing in the mornings.

Painted my nails last night and for the first time, they don't look like a toddler did them! Finished the cake balls also. I guess tonight will be the pot roast?!? Work at the boutique tomorrow and then babysitting after. I was supposed to have a date tomorrow night, but after I told him on Wednesday that my last relationship was with a girl, I didn't hear from him until 10:30 last night... Could have been busy, could have been freaked out. Either way, I didn't want to pass up babysitting for a "possible" date. So I did what I thought would make me happiest and made plans to babysit.

Plan to get back into the gym next week. Only positives can come from that, right? Really need to clean house... badly.

I am hoping to start an exercise class next week too. It is tuesday and thursday nights for an hour. Looking forward to going.

Hope I can do it. Shouldn't be too hard. No weights, only body resistance. I think it will be fun.

I've got a calendar right above the computer that my granddaughter was selling in a fund raiser. Its Dogs doing Yoga exercises. Funny as all get out....cute poses, but better the pooches than me. That DOES look hard.

Yippee, the day is more than half over. Spent it with a calculator and white-out. I never was good at math. In high school they let me forget about trigonometry I took typing instead... and it was certainly more useful.

Temperature is milder today. in the 50's. It's windy, so doesn't feel that good. I saw a fox prancing through. He looked some handsome trotting along. Last night we had two adolescent deer on the front lawn. They came close to the house and I enjoyed watching them so close...maybe ten feet away. Their fur seems a lot thicker than I thought.

Still planning on making those cake balls.....this would be a good time.
BBL but first I have to go change a letter in a silly game...

I made my shopping list and put on there the stuff for the cake balls. I do plan to make them for my girlfriend for her birthday as she always makes me a cake. Plus this way I can have some too. I am burning a candle called "frosted cupcake". That is par for the course I guess. It smells so sweet.

I just watered my plants as they were drooping. I only have three. An aloe, a rosemary and a snap dragon that came up in a little pot all by itself. Nobody planted it. And it had been years since I had snaps. I am hoping that it will bloom again. It sprouted out a bunch of branches and I hope that they all bloom. It was yellow and pinkish orange.

I hope everybody is having a great day. Joyce I didn't see your post this morning. I guess I didn't get up early enough.

Take care all. Sunny and not too cold here today. Lovely day!!!

Hugs, Karen

Just a small 'alert' that I'll be starting a new game tomorrow, January 7th...called "Saturday Scrambles".

There will be five or six words, all with the same theme, that have the letters mixed up.  Tomorrow's theme is 'Animals".

You can post what you think the correct word is,  and I'll edit the game to enter the answer.

This will be a once a week Saturday (hopefully) morning game.  Only one (correct) guess per person, Hope to see you in the morning.

I hope everyone has luck with their cakeballs! I have a picture of how I decorated mine, but we can't share so just imagine... white icing with sugar sprinkles (the kind of sparkly kind) and funfetti cake on the inside!

Good luck!

Good morning all,
Just attempted a short message in the cake ball thread and it didn't go through. This computer is aging by the minute.

Will post this and if it 'takes'... I'll do the new game "Saturday Scrambles'. I'm holding my breath.

Be back shortly, I hope

OH Jamie you were doing so good for awhile,,,we always hope it will last and it is so discouraging when the doldrums come back...the thrush must be taking a toll-it's hard to feel good when you cannot even swallow!!!

Will send you some of my good mood, which is holding without anti-ds. I do not want to sit around and wait for the other shoe to drop so I am going to get some stuff down, washing all the down comforters in soap and bleach-they smell so good my family always says thank you when they crawl into bed with all fresh linens and blankets-isn't that a good feeling??

Sending you some healing vibes. Also thinking since I klive in Voodoo country about making a Steve doll and making it leave your house-LOL!! Put a little gris-gris on it!!

Hope things get better baby-soon!!

Maggie

Hi Maggie...

Although I wouldn't recommend for others to go off any medications without their Doctors' okay, yes I did go off my anti-depressant many years ago on my own and haven't looked back.

I went into a deep depression I'll say about six years after I was dxd. with severe RA.  I just couldn't deal with life anymore.  I hadn't discontinued my anti-depressant yet but something strange happened that brought me out of that Bad mental state one night.  Afterwards(still on the med.),  I still had occasional depression but nothing like that.

about 10 years ago, I just quit taking the anti-depressant.  I didn't feel depressed anymore and I found that the drug was just causing me to be more fatigued although it did help with my nightly pain some.

I can't say that I always have a clear mind lol since I am on other RA drugs and I definitely don't always have perfect sugar levels but mentally I feel pretty good considering, thankfully.

Hopefully you continue with a good state of mind.  Life isn't meant to be all dreary.  There is usually hope out there somewhere.  :)

Hi msouchie (luv it)

Yes, I have always been big on telling others NEVER to stop meds. I have done it in the past with disastrous consequences, including hospitalization. They started me on cymbalta at thanksgiving and I ran out and was unable to get or fill the script so I braced myself for the worst and after 2 days of yucky feeling, i emerged hopeful and clearer than I had been in years. I DO NOT recommend this to anyone else.

I guess it was my time, at least for a little while...I have been praying on it for a long time and decided that it was in my power to get better. Of course, that will not work for most but thru an odd combo of a stubborn, very optimistic soul and a deep faith that God hears us, I have been given a second chance. And I am going to enjoy it as long as God sees fit to let me.

As they say on the commercials "Do not attempt this at home"

i have been blessed, and I don't know why, but I'll take it.

I will always be here for my friends, without whom, none of this would be possible. I love you and thank you.

Have a great night
maggie
