So I met with my new therapist today.. very nice lady, comfortable to talk to, I started telling her about my symptoms and she seems to think i may be suffering from ADD along with clinical depression.

My concern is that she brought up my childhood, I knew that that would be brought up in time but after 30 minutes? I figured we would meet for at least 2-3 sessions before she went there!

So my homework is to write a letter to mom and dad and to read them to her next week.. i can write the letters but it's the reading them out loud to a stranger is whats concerning me.

This is new to me so any advice will be welcome.

I would say just go for it if you're feeling shy or embarrassed but if you feel really uncomfortable about it, just tell you therapist that you aren't ready yet.

You will find out if you are ready. Keep trying, don't feel embarrassed reading the letter to her. Know that she is jumping in feet first trying to help. I would go for it.
