Theres always a flipside in life right? What if depression is a blessing in disguise. Think about it, without extreme suffering, how can a person experience extreme joy. I have suffered debilitating depression for 2 long now, its about time we find some positives to our illness. Call me deluded, but I'm now starting to feel lucky I experience severe depression. Lets take on the challenge of banishing our depression, or at least feeling comfortable with it.  Please post ways we can take on our depression and cut it down to size, for me, I found new qualities I admire in a close friend.

Cheers

I think for me, all though its hard to do and its not often i do it, i try and see a good quality in myself. Not easy to do when in low point. you know what i mean.

Have a good Day

Great topic Sky!! I heard a woman on the radio one time who ended her talk with a prayer. Included in the prayer were these words, which have SO opened my eyes: "Thank you God for the storms in life that blow me right into your arms"

Blessings!

Thanx for the replies.

I also think music, pets, friends and exercise are vital in coping with lifes difficulities. Get a dog and walk it, buy or rent a treadmill and listen to music while u walk or jog! our depression will not fade unless we act positive and work towards banishing it. depressed people obviously have to work harder at being happy, but, what doesn't kill u can only make u stronger.
