Oh, MUCH better...got my pain meds and started cleaning like a whirling dervish yesterday and boy am I paying for it today-lol. Washed all the bedding and comforters, steamed floors (with 2 dogs and living on the water they were BAD (house is all bamboo flooring)

Katie went to "Glow bowling" last night, all black lights and rock n roll-sounds fun, doesn't it? Except throwing that ball and throwing your back out-lol.

hubby and I are doing ok, better than I remember for awhile and that helps the depression and the pain alot

katie is having probs with her meds, "crashing" from her Concerta in last block at school, very shaky and irritable so I told her meds cannot solve all her problems and if she would see therapist, they can help with ways to deal with anger and irritation..I think she is fuinally willing to try it...

Beautiful cool day here, baked a big ol ham yesterday, with au gratin potaoes yum-good leftovers today and a big bone for soup or beans.

have a good day y'all

Maggie

Only so-so, awty. Had lousy leg cramps in the middle which woke me. Had to walk around the house for awhile to get rid of them.

Ouch Grandma J, those in the middle of the night craps are just awful, and wake you so quickly it is hard to get back to sleep afterwards.

I didn't work on the weekend, but got loads done that I needed to do for my up-coming trip. Informed vet Moki can be treated if need be, and I will fix bill when I return, got my injections, and boy do they hurt, and ordered my forgien currency.

Sunday was a pig of a day as an alarm at my place went of and I didn't know what it was or how to turn it off. After two hours, I called a friend, and they helped me dismantle a security alarm that the company wouldn't help me with. Loud sudden noises can ruin a whole day for me, and where I had woken motivated with a list of things to do, very little got done as I spent the day calming myself down again.

How did you get on with your new design for the wreath you were working on?

Refresh me about where you are going on your trip... (Senior moment here...) Karen has told me you do a lot of traveling.

That alarm must have been the pits. Can just imagine the stress. Did you ever find out WHY it went off?

No, wreath design is put on hold. My son (soon to be taking over the busines) has decided we'll go with my 'Garden Greeters' that I designed last year. Two figures (a boy and a girl)... that will have changeable accessories for different seasons...flowers, pumpkin etc. He had been hesitant to produce this product because of concern about water (snow, rain) damage to a wooden figure that is out in the elements for a long period of time. We will have to give lower edges extra sealant.

SO, that is what I'll be working on today. Kind of you to remember and ask. I'll keep you posted on progress, (or lack of it.)

What an awesome idea with the changable garden greeter, sounds so cute. When I read that I see a cartoon figure and I can't at the moment recall what they were called from my childhood days. Have to go along way back to remember what she was called, I think love is...... will have to google. (wee side track)

On Feb 16th I am going to Brunei then Bali then India and return home end of March. Big trip right at the same time as buying a house, not a good plan, lol But one I will enjoy all the same I imagine.

For the alarm, I have no idea, the prevous owners had an alarm put in, but when they moved out, they notified the company, so the company was no longer monitoring the place. I have been in the new place a month, so I can't work out why it didn't go off earlier if it was still active. I wasn't left a code either as I imagine I would need a new code if I used the service. All a mystery to me

You are one busy person! I'm exhausted (but jealous) just reading about your plans. How do you decide where you wish to go?

John and I haven't done much traveling...just to England and Italy.

I hope your alarm is now disconnected (or re-connected). That would not be fun to have it go off while you're away. Well, at least you couldn't 'hear' it. :>)

smilewinkgrin   smilewinkgrin smilewinkgrin We cut the wires, so that thing isn't going of again.

Well, I decide like this.  I choose a Country I really really want to go to, find a tour date, and then look at what other Countries are around the same area, and try and visit a few before or after my tour date.  This saves travelling so far at a later date.  I had booked a tour in Brunei, but they cancelled as not enough people, but I had booked accomadation and flight by then, so I will go and find my own way around.  Bali I am doing on my own as well.  I have researched and know some of the places I would like to go while I am there.  A camel safari in Bali, and a Monkey forest in Brunei.  I am very much attracted to what animals I can meet and greet when I travel, and have a few elephant rides booked as well.  Hope to get a few more photo's for Karens screen saver, lol

Oh Awty,

Thanks for thinking of my screen saver. People see them and are amazed. They think it is so cool that I have a friend that travels. Even though we have never met. A wonderful thing the internet is, isn't it? I am looking forward. And hope that you have the most wonderful time. We are going to miss you while you are away though.

I bet you are counting the days before you go. I would be. I am also very envious of your travels. But I was always a chicken. I have only been to a few states in the US as far as that goes. Got scared of the mountains traveling. But we saw a wreck in the hills of Kentucky and that got me scared. We came back the East coast route so I got to see many more states. But that is the extent of my travels.

Keep posting Awty. As much as you can before you take off to your vacation....

Hugs, Karen
