Has anyone tried TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) for treatment-resistant depression? If you have, did it help w/depression? Did you have side effects? It looks like I'm growing closer and closer to trying it, as medications are not bringing any relief.

Thank you.

There is a lot of information about it on wikipedia. I have never had it so I am no help there. I wish you the best though. Do let us know and keep us posted as to how it goes.

Hello Gigi,

Many people who have received TMS have found it to be beneficial. The added bonus, TMS doesn't have the side effect of most other treatments for depression. The most common complain when people first start TMS treatments is scalp tenderness at the treatment site. This usually subsides after the first week of treatment. You can find a lot of patient testimonials that describe patient experiences with TMS by going to http://www.thedepressionhopecenter.com/patient-stories/ Also the website www.PineWoodTMS.com gives a lot of information about TMS. I hope this is information helps you.
