I've been ridiculously depressed lately. Today is Easter, and I am not doing anything with anyone. I woke up late, have been eating junk food and am zoning out watching TV. I told myself I was going to use today to buy new clothes (I recently gained a lot of weight, adding to the depression), but I don't feel like it. I don't want to shower, I don't want to be presentable and I am perfectly happy being lazy. Is that bad? If I'm happy at the moment doing nothing? *at the moment* I am content. Even though it's sunny outside and I am being sooo lazy. I just am not in the mood to do anything or talk to anyone - but I'm happy. Is this bad?

As long as you don't do this for too long. Often we do need to just go with the flow of the day and not punish yourselves for doing absolutely nothing. But if this continues of not wanting to do anything, such as showering, then talk to the doctor about a med adjustment or some counseling if you aren't already going.

But to take one day and just be lazy is okay. We need to enjoy days like this with no feelings of guilt. Allow yourself today.

Happy Easter

Thank you for your post. Tomorrow is back to work, so I can't be lazy even if I wanted to be. And I think you're right - the meds aren't working. There's nothing I can do about it today, so I think I will let myself off the hook for the time being. I see my doc next Saturday and I will definitely bring up that in general I'm feeling worse. Thanks. :)
