I am a member of the fibro forum. I suffer from chronic depression for over 20 yrs. I decided that It might be beneficial for me to visit this site. I went through a few months free of depression. It was so wonderful. I am feeling the depression creeping back slowely. I decided to try to stay on top of it. Over the years I have learned my warning signs. I was going to see a therapist, but it seem like I was just a number. I haven't got to much out of therapy work. I got some new names, I might try again. I hope to visit again.

Hi ak. Don't give up on therapy just because one therapist made you feel like "just a number." Therapy has proven helpful (sometimes in combination with medication) for many people. It might take a little time and effort to find the therapist who is right for you. But, once you do, it will probably be worthwhile. Best wishes, Medved.

Hi Angel,

Welcome to the depression forum. I am glad that you have joined us. I agree, don't give up on the counseling, sometimes, we just need to find the right fit. A lot of antidepressants help with fibro pain too.

Keep posting, know that everybody here cares.

Have you tried walking? It would help both of the fibro and the depression. I try to walk everyday. It has helped me to lose weight and gives me energy. I think fibro and depression can get into a cycle where one starts effecting the other. And that is hard to break. Most of all, take life one day at a time. Try not to expect too much frrom yourself at any given time. Just do the best that you can.

I hope that you feel better soon.

Hugs, Karen

I think you should give the therapy a try again to see if it can help...
therapy has changed so much in the last few years and if your not
getting the help you want then just try someone else...someone
right will be there for you...

Karen, I drug myself outside because it was beautiful outside. I felt so bad when I started, but the time I got done I was feeling better. It something about going for a walk that does something for you. I remember many years ago I had to call the crises hot line. They told me to take a walk and call them back. It sure work then. I hope I can learn how to handle these up and down days. Thanks for the support you guys.

Hi Angel,

I am glad that you went for a walk. It always does help me. Though the last two days have been so windy it is hard to go far. Hopefully today will be nicer. I look forward to them. My big event of the day. lol...
