cry  Hi all.  I ended back in a behavior hosptial do to self harm on the way to a therapy session.
What I learned was the medicine for my medical condition and the meds for my depression and chronic PTSD were decreasing my blood pressure and increasing my depression!
This was a fairly slow process over 4-6 weeks.
Coupled with the fact that from 15 years of child abuse I hide 99% of what I am feeling without even realizing it. I wrote in my journal about the; told my therapist and doctor. However, I also sugar coated it, with my skills are working blah, blah, blah.

This is what I learned:

Need to more STRAIGHT FORWARD about your fears and feelings, especially if you are going down.  Either to your therapist or your doc.  [ I now have a game plan, if I have a down day I draw a cloud on the calendar, more than 2 days in row, I call my doctor]

QUESTION your medication.  The only silly or stupid question is the one not asked, this is so true if you are juggling meds between 2 or more docs. So many of us are.  Talk to you pharmacist!

READ the phamlets given with meds, if it affects your blood pressure  buy a BP cuff and monitor it daily to be sure you are remaining stable and not dropping. IF you have MDD, this can be devastating!!!  I know, JUST BEEN there. Can not tell you the. You will have to trust I have telling the truth. cool

So in a nutshell, Be TRUTHFUL, PROACTIVE AND COMMUNICATE until it hurts.  We are already suffering unspeakable pain, might as well have the pain work FOR us instead of AGAINST us!

God Bless!  Everyone have a pleasant Memorial Day weekend.  Be Safe!

Hi there,

I had to remove a couple of words in your post as we can't discuss suicide or self harm here.

I like your post though, good advice about listening to yourself about meds and asking the doctor or pharmacist. Also your statement about being truthful, proactive and communication. That all makes so much sense,. We have to be totally open to get any help. And being proactive is so important.

I hope that you have a good weekend too. We are getting thunder showers atm...

Hugs, Karen

wooops! so sorry about that.  Thought initials would be ok.  I knew that though. I am trying to give hope
not the opposite!  It is never to dark to ask for help.

We will be getting thunderstorms this afternoon.  Planting tomato plants now. A little late, but I am home to do it!
That is all that matters today.

Hi Trina,

Glad that you understand about the rules. I still have to plant my tomatoes but I am in Michigan so I plant them a little later. We had frost last week. Hope that is over with. My tomatoes are growing big now. But are in small pots. It is time though.

I got my beans planted the other day. This rain should be good for them. I hope that they all come up. I think that they will.

I hope you are having a nice weekend. The forum is kind of slow lately, guess everybody is out in the weather. Doing things. Keep posting and know that I care...

Hugs, Karen
