Hi, my screen name is Display.

i guess i have reached a bottom with my depression. i can no longer reject other people's suggestions, even though i want to. i am not going to be able to pull myself out of this depression if i just rely on myself. if i do so, i will just sit around miserable.

today i am going to try doing some things i don't want to do, but that will help me feel i am moving forward.

just needed to check in about that.

thanks for listening,
Display

Hi Display,

Keep your goals small right now so that you can acheive them. Don't push yourself too hard. If you get even just one thing done, reward yourself. Even if it is something as simple as taking a shower. Don't forget to see your doc and find a therapist to talk to. If you are seeing one now and it isn't helping, let them know. Maybe there is something different you can try. I hope that you feel better soon.

Hugs, Karen

well i helped my sister clean out the garage today. that was a good way to pass the time, because we now have a cleaner garage. i also faced some fear - we have had rodents in our garage and i'm deathly afraid of them. but, the sun was shining and it felt like time to face the fear, just a little. of course nothing happened - my fears about a rodent running out were just that - fears, and irrational ones at that.

i am also fortunate that i have people in my 12-step recovery program (Al-Anon) who will let me email them, sometimes going on and on about a problem.

Hi Display,

It sounds like you had a productive day today. I am happy for that. It is always nice to get a chore like that done. I am glad you recognized your fear, but it is good to be careful where there are, or could be, rodents. I am glad that you didn't see one.

I am glad you have the support that you do. And know that is what this place is for too. Getting things out. Feeling better. I hope your day continues to be good.

Hugs, Karen

I wanted to second Karens thoughts. Make small goals for now because they are big accomplishments when you are going through a tough time. And you make a very insightful point, you can`t do it alone. Sometimes we need more then ourselves to get through big things; its called being human and its what living in a world with others is all about. Finding people to support and that support us. Keep talking to those around you and talking through how you are feeling. Stay strong and keep posting! We support you and congrats on everything you accomplished today.

hi, just want to check in today. i went to the dentist and that went ok, but i have to do some after-care for a few hours. not in any pain so that is good. also, had nitrous oxide and my yearning for that stuff convinces me that i am indeed an addict (my drug is nicotine).

anyway, i seem to run home and get inside as soon as i can. probably not the best choice but the only one i seem able to make. i just need some activities to pass the time today.

thanks for listening,

I had nitrous oxide and it didn't do a thing for me. I think the cylinder was empty or sommething.. But it didn't help at all.

Maybe you can go for a walk. How is your weather? It is kind of nice here. I walked my dog today. I am glad that the dentist is over and you can relax and enjoy your day. Take care...
