You are recovering from an addiction, it is easy to feel very alone especially when you have friends who are not very supportive. I don't have personal experience with addiction but i know that you are taking steps in the right direction. Don't let anything bring you down it will get better..it already is!

Are you sure that you are on the right antidepressants? I would have a talk with the doc and see if there is anything that they can do to help you. I do hope you start counseling again, you could use the extra support. You shouldn't feel like you are being judged, maybe you didn't have such a good counselor. I like the thought of you keeping an open mind, that is very important. I hope that you get a good counselor this time.

Take care, keep posting...

Do you make it clear to them that you don't feel well? You need to let them know. Often they think we are okay if we don't say anything. I hope that you get to feeling better soon.

Hi Jus:  I'm sorry you're having such a rough time at the moment.  But even though your are very understandably depressed you should also feel a little proud of yourself at the moment.  Overcoming an addiction is a huge thing.

This is not my area of expertise, but do you or could you go to AA meetings where you might meet others who have already gone through or can commiserate with you?

My thoughts will be with you.  And Karen is right by the way, be totally honest about how you feel when you meet with your med. person.

i have been to a an aa meeting when i was in detox. i think at the time i wasnt ready for an aa meeting because i wasnt ready to give up my addiction. i have been sober for almost a year! (next month is a year)! my sister has a friend who has been sober 5 years and her and i talk a lot. but it has been something i want to do just scared to do it alone. my dad has offered to go with me for some support.

Hey Jus,

So happy for that. Glad that you are attending meetings too. It is nice to know that you aren't alone. There are others going though the same as you. Keep up the good work...
