I'm new to this website....I'm new to reaching out for help in general. The past several months I have been dealing with feelings of worthlessness. Im a nice person. Most people that know me would say to nice. I feel like there isn't a single person on this planet that actually cares about me. I spend all my time trying to help other people but, I don't see gratitude even from the people who are supposed to care for me. I've been having increased thoughts of suicide lately, I honestly feel like if I did it people wouldn't really care. They all just use me anyways. Anybody else feelin me?

Hi there,

Welcome to the depression forum.  You have come to a good place.  Just in case, I want to post a couple of numbers for you to call incase you need them.

National Suicide Hotline
1-800-SUICIDE ( 1-800-784-2433 )

Well, it is one number actually.  I hope that it never gets that bad...

It is so hard when you are a caring person, people tend to take that for granted.  They don't mean to, it just happens.  So stay that caring person.  When you do good things, you don't expect anything in return, right?  So don't get down.  People mean well.  It just doesn't always come out that way.  Just stay the way that you are.  You will never regret it...

Thanks for the support guys. I really never expect anything in return for the things I do for people it jUst really sucks that I've been dealing with these problems ever since I was young and sadly I'm only 19 years old. My family is the biggest offender, I'm basically a maid in my own house. Not only is my family emotionally abusive but physically as well. I need to move out but I don't have the money. I feel like I'm literally going insane.

If you had a roommate could you afford to move out then? That couldd be an option for you. I don't llike hearing that you are living in an abusive household. You have to move out and get on with your life. Maybe the department of human services could help you. It is very important that you get out and live your life.

I've been looking for a roommate for a while now. That's honestly the only thing holding me back at the moment. My best friend and her boyfriend want to get an apartment together but they don't have the money saved up yet so I'll have to wait untill they do. How can the human services department help me though?

They may give you food stamps, money for a place, or even a medicaid card if you are eligible. You can look on the internet and find their number. Call them and make an appointment. They might be able to help you find a place to live. Let them know your living situation and that it isn't that good. It can't hurt to try. Some of the help I got from general assistance, I had to work for or pay back when I got on my feet. But they often help you.

Best wishes,

Hugs, Karen

You may qualify for a lot of help after you move out. I am sorry that you make over the limit for medicare. That is a shame. There are other programs, if you are old enough for madicare. The department of senior citizens sometimes has programs that will help you qualify for prescription help and other health needs. They help you apply for these things too. Call them too and see.
