I am a single mom going through a low low. I can
barely move. My family is sick of me and I don't know what to do. I feel guilty and full of self loathing.

Hi Bluelady,

Though your name sounds sad, I like it. Good pick... Welcome to the depression forum. I am glad that you have joined us, though sorry for the reason why.

Are you taking any medications or going to any counseling for your depression? The combination usually gets us going on getting better is why I ask.

How long have you felt this way? Why do you think your family is sick of you? Because you aren't able to do anything? I know that when we are depressed, we seem to get at a stand still. Family members notice that or think we complain everyday when we are feeling bad. Please explain more if you can. Know we are here to help you out of the slump that you are in.

Writing about it helps.

Take care,

Hugs, Karen

Hi,

Yes, therapy, neds and more. My family has had enough with this ongoing struggle. I have a little boy, so I'm desperate.

Are you sure that the meds are working? I would talk to your therapist and the prescribing doctor and let them know that you still aren't feeling well. There are so many different medications out there now that a change might be in order. If your therapist isn't helping you, find another one. We spend many hours talking and trying to get better. Therapy should be helping you. If it isn't, then see about seeing a different therapist.

Don't feel guilty for being depressed. You can't help it. It is a medical condition and it isn't your fault. Keep posting. That should help you some. Know that you aren't alone.

Hugs, Karen
