Things aren't always the best for us. I am sorry about your problems. I am sorry that your mum drinks, have you ever mentioned your concerns to her? What did she say if you did? It is hard to watch somebody battling with alcohol. I am sorry that you are gonig through that. I am glad that you have a relationship with your dad though. That is wonderful.

I am sorry that you are having relationship issues. With your ex and with your friend. Sometimes things look bad when they really aren't what we think. Did you get in an argument with your friend, or are they avoiding you? I don't quite understand that part. You will get over your ex. We often have many breakups before we settle with somebody. Life goes by fast, so dont be spending much time dwelling on him. Get on with it, meet other guys. I know you feel that you are in love with him and can't live without him, but you can. Take care of you. Do something nice for yourself. Do something to make yourself happy. You deserve to be happy.

take care...

Is this your mom you are talking about? Maybe it is time for some distance. It might do you both some good.

Hi Red,

This stuff happens a lot when you're still in jr high/high school. Teenagers can be the meanest people on earth. It's even harder for you to cope with this when you have depression.

I was diagnosed with depression when I was 11. As I recall jr high and high school were more nightmare than fun. Sorry your friend is being a jerk to you. Maybe it's time for a better friend?

I'm not sure how custody and such works overseas. Is it possible that you could stay with your dad for a while? If not, is there a local Al-Anon/Alateen? There is a list of meetings here http://www.al-anon.alateen.org/how-to-find-a-meeting

It's hardly a perfect solution, but you could get some support for what you are going through. Posting here can help too. at least it can give you people to talk to who understand being depressed.

Hey Red,

Sorry about your friend. Times like this are hard. Sometimes friends do grow apart and often you make new ones. Can you try talking to your friend about it? Try to be open and honest about how you are feeling.

Do keep posting. I hope that things get better soon.

Hugs, Karen
