hi, my screen name is Display.

some days like today i find myself pondering the big questions. what are the tasks that make up a life? why does God seem indifferent sometimes.

need to say that i feel really down today. not much to do. also depressed about my job search. i made several phone calls yesterday and that was good, but i don't think i have many more people i can call next week. supposedly i take the weekends off but my life seems like it's at a standstill til i get a job.

anyway, just needed to say i am here, am feeling depressed and can't seem to get off of wondering and pondering about life.

everyone else seems to have life going on and mine feels like nothing but sitting around.

should also mention i have a fear of driving and so my options are limited.

thanks for listening,
Display

Hi Display,

Don't ponder too much. Try to stay in the moment. It is much better for us that way. Thinking too much about the future can make you depressed and fill you with questions. You will get though this. One day at a time...

Hi Display,

You're on the right direction for getting your life moving. In the mean time try to see people. Get out of the house, walk to a park and read a good book.

I found that I was isolating myself a lot so in the past 2 weeks, I've been going to the dog park almost every day, my dog loves it and I get to meat people and laugh at the dogs playing, they are so funny sometimes! I visited a lot of family and had dinner with my two best friends. It's really doing some good!

So invite some friends or family, play cards, cook them dinner. They could have sone advice for your job search... The more people you know the better chances you have to find a good job!

Good success and take care,
Caroline

Dear Display,

Since you insist on being a ponderer, I highly suggest you go to the library and get this book to read.

LIVING BUDDHA, LIVING CHRIST, by Thich Nhat Hanh.

It is an amazing read on mindfulness, the similarities of the two religions and about pondering God.

You can find copies on the internet for sale inexpensively also.

Display, you are in control of you if you drive or not! Be proactive, pondering is ok, if YOU take the next step and look for the answers to your questions.

Starting a journal could be a wonderful start to fabulous outlet!

Stay Strong!
