:-)  Hello

I am new to this board but also submit messages on the Crohns disease site as I have had this for over 19 years.

I was diagnosed with clinical depression over 2 years ago and although having been through a major bereavement I do wonder whether all the medication I have been on has somehow altered my body chemistry to bring on this condition.

If anyone has any thoughts on this please reply!

This is something I have never formally asked the medical profession, not sure of the response I would get!

Ziggy,

I have had Crohn's for 35 years and symptoms for 40. Depression has been part of my life throughout most of my life. During the early years of Crohn's, there wasn't much they did for me as far as medication for either CD or depression. In fact I was off all meds for 20 years of this time. Each life situations are different and I know that I spent way too much time trying to learn why I am the way that I am rather than accepting it and looking for ways to change those parts of myself I did not like and had the power to change. Good luck in finding the answers you are looking for.
