Hi All,

My husband has social anxiety and has been having an especially hard time since we moved last summer.  He is now in a depression.  I have been looking into different kinds of therapy and found info about EFT (emotional Freedom Technique) and RRT (Rapid Resolution Therapy) and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with either one (good or bad).  He was on Xanax before we moved but was able to wean himself off after we moved.  He would rather not go the drug route if at all possible.  Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks, KO

hi KO-LD,

I am sorry for what your husband is going through. Does he go to any counseling? CBT and DBT therapy are good for depression. And anxiety. Especially if he doesn't want drugs.

I take Xanax, and have for years. I am gradually going off of it, but when I got low, my anxiety went up.

I wish you and your husband the best.

I am not familiar with either the RRT and EFT.

Hugs, Karen

Thanks Karen, I'll look into both of them also.

I am not familiar with either of these therapies. Personally I would be careful with anything that implies "Rapid Solution". This is usually not the case, especially with depression. Be careful with people stating this is possible and asking for money.

I do know of and have used both therapies that Karen mentioned and can tell you that DBT in particular is a great way to handle situational depression.

I wish you and your husband the best.

Peace
Trina
