I can empathize completely. I attended and graduated from Virginia Tech. I loced the lovely mountain college town so much I stayed 13 years. It was one of the places, like home, where I felt safe and loved. Then that psycho killed 20 or 30 students/staff. I was heartbroken for this wonderful institution that would now be remembered for that and not the major contributions it has made to the world.
I do not know which University you taught at, but I send my sympathies and will surely not judge them by the actions of a few, violent ******s. Campuses used to be a place where ideas flew, not bullets. Shame, shame.
Take care dear
