Another "short story".........
But first ......... HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
On the way to and from DD this morning, I had the radio on in the car - and heard two announcers talking about their Moms - who had passed! Both of them praised their deceased mothers for how much they each were involved with their sons lives when they were kids .... "was at all of the hockey games I played in" was one of the quotes.
For a moment .... I thought back .... and said "where did these Moms come from?" "Mine never went to one of my games or one of my anythings"! Some of that old bitterness came over me briefly.
Then I thought, I did go to see her weekly for her last 16-months she was in an assisted living home and the 15-months she had 24/7 care in her own home. So .... I did my part ... even though (rest in peace) she did not over all those many past years!
That time is now gone. The bits of bitterness remaining certainly should be buried as well.
Some here, have had or still are having much, much worse acts of motherly love - and I'm not trying to be sarcastic - just realistic. To those people, I am so sorry you didn't have those acts of love.
I think I'll call my oldest daughter today ... and wish her a Happy Mothers Day!
Peace and wellness
