Hey chotti ........ will try again - but a shorter version:
1) could not find anything on your uncle! Did I have his name wrong at - Ken Rupert?
2) did find a lot of coverage on Barry Berkus - my first architectural firm - Chicago office in the early 70's!
3) the name of the dental office building was ... the Family Dentists - located in Gurnee, IL. Can't find anything on the internet about them.
4) lots of info on Lance Briggs though! And i finally found an old listing of his Illinois home. I was the architect-of-record on that home - and did ALL of the design and drawings for it in 2007. My client was Kennebunk Bldrs (or Joe Long) as a very expensive spec home ... and Lance Briggs purchased the home new in 2008 directly from Kennebunk.
It was in the early years of the recession and virtually put Kennebunk out of business. He lowered the sales price to just slightly below the total hard cost with interest carry of about $2.5M in order to sell!
There are 5 or 6-pictures of the house on the site .... 180 Coach Northfield,IL by Zillow. There's also one aerial photo of it during construction on the same site. It's a big house with expensive detailing. It's listed at 5158SF of living area - but likely does not include the 10' ceiling basement with finished rec room, wine cellar, bathroom and maids quarters. There is an elevator for three floors, 5-bedrooms, 6+ bathrooms and a large parking court.
Lance used to have a Lamborghini until he crashed it on the Edens a few years ago. He still has a separate Lambo garage.
It's a very nice home with a very complex structure. My only complaint is the use of a different cabinet color from the rest of the kitchen - on the kitchen island. The different color of granite top is cool - but not the cabinet! I disagreed with the interior designer!!! Guess who lost?
I wish I could have found more on the internet. i do have renderings of a Wright inspired home I did for Florida (interior and exterior) ... and for the home in Thailand (sorry - not Indonesia)! Three renderings I have in B&W were done by a Philipino friend of mine who i've known for 40+ years. And he's good!
As you probably know - it's not unusual for an architect to get into a p*****g contest with an interior designer. It sometimes goes with the territory.
Peace ........ and wellness
