I belong to an excercise group for pulmonary and cardiac patients. And besides having COPD, I'm also dealing with stage #4 cancer and poor functioning kidneys.
And yet ....... all of my doctors encourage regular excercising. When I do, as long as I haven't pushed things too far too soon, I feel better. And the longer and more regular the excercising sessions are, the better i feel.
Is there a possibility that you're either pushing things too hard while not being on a regular basis - or that you're not getting enough rest or sleep after the 40km bike ride.
My daughter does regularily run. She has run two half marathons in the past 6-months. She started a few years ago with 5km runs - and now, she'de rather pass on short runs like that. She changed her eating habits bigtime a few years ago - and now, would never consider doing a half marathon unless she spent enough of the prior months building up to it with training.
I know she'de like to come back to Chicago to run her first (full) marathon - but she would never consider it unless she had the proper training, eating and hydration.
I do agree with most that the alcohol is a definite NO-NO while on most any meds.
Keep goin on the bike!
