Yes, it does get better,
medication is not what society makes it out to be.
There is not magic 'Happy Pill'.
The above people are all correct it takes time and patience. Also it takes coping skills. Have you asked your doc about them?
Journaling, Art, music, DBT, CBT, mindfulness, meditation, exercise, plain walking.
You can review out resource thread at the top of the forum. Has 4-5 pages of good information including links and books.
