My children are both having birthdays. My son will be 11 and my baby girl will be 9. The problem is with their parties. My son has his scheduled for tomorrow evening and my daughter has hers on Saturday. Not one child has rsvpd. I only invited 4 each of their closest friends. Last year (none of the same children were invited last year to this year) we had 25 people accepted. I rented a venue. I'm on a very fixed budget (yay, disability) but its one day a year and I adore my kids. Only my niece, nephew, and grandmother came. My kids were heartbroken and I was furious. I don't care about the money, no mother wants her babies to hurt. So I'm asking for any advice or tips or anything that I can do to try and give my babies the celebration of their lives that they deserve if this kids don't show.

My grandson has had the same experience. He's 14 now so it's a little easier to 'explain'.

I am reminded of a bible story about a man who was giving a wedding feast. When the 'invitees' all were too busy and made excuses, the man sent his servants out to invite anyone they chose! So, if the kiddies don't show up, perhaps look around and see if there are any 'loose' kids around that would enjoy the experience!

Thank you!! I'm new to my apartment so maybe this will be a good way to meet new people Lol!! I've been up all night worrying. I'm just hoping my babies know they are so loved.

How were they invited? Through the parents or through the kids? Both??

I would have your kids ask their friends if they are coming. A kid, if they want to do something, will remind the parent.

This has happened to everyone. I remember one horrible party I threw.

Be calm and let the worry go.

I brought invitations to school and spoke to teachers. The teachers helped kids hand out invitations. The kids are asking.

I know this thread was started weeks ago but enough with the suspense! How did the party turn out?
