Hi All - Have been taking remeron on and off for a number of years now.  Will always gain some weight although it stays somewhat under control with also taking zantac.  Researchers have actually done a study on using zantac along with meds that act on the histamine receptors and make you gain weight; and it does work, but you also have to take a lot of zantac.  My problem is the constipation.  Even with upping the flax seeds, bran and all the other natural methods it is still a problem.  I have read of some individuals using cholinergic meds such as galantamine to undue to anticholinergic constipation.  Anyone know anything about this. Also, those of you who are taking remeron 7.5 mg every second day - do you find the side effects a lot less.

I have been on Remeron for about two months.  I was on the 15mg but then it pooped out on me after one month, and now I am on the 30mg which is working great so far.  I have not noticed any side effects except for increased appetite.  I have not gained too much weight.  I have not heard about Zantac with Remeron.  The Remeron has worked very well for depression and anxiety, so hopefully it won't poop out again in another month.

redface  Hi Rianna - I did at one time try the 30 mg of Remeron.  If my memory serves me correctly I felt tired but wired. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Mobe,

It sounds like you have been taking Remeron for a while now..have you noticed it ever stop working or "pooping out" on you? I have read a few posts where it poops out in a month on some people. I am hoping that won't happen.

redface  I was using Remeron mostly as a sleep aid and Wellbutrin as the antidepressent.  It never pooped out as a sleep aid.
