My 14 yr old daughter has been on meds since she was 7..first they said ADHD, then they said depression, so they put her on lexapro a year ago, 5 mg, they had tried to increase it to 10 mg but she turns into Satan with PMS and after 3 weeks they have to knock her back to the 5 again....
Well on tuesday she tried to kill herself and now she is inpatient and I am worried, they took her off her lex and put her on she does have stomach issues that we are trying to deal with and i think it is Crohns.....
I ihave heard horror stories about Prozac and i need some reasurrance, she told me today that she is hearing voices and she just started the meds today
They say laughter is the best medicine....then why are my pants wet, my gut sore and I am still laughing!!!

Ask her Dr about Remeron.Drs now are pushing Prozac.I took it for awhile but went off it as I didn't like it,& It really didn't do alot for me.Remeron keeps me calm,& lets me sleep too.Low dose always to start.

I was on Prozac about 7-8 years ago. I was on it for a few months but went off it because I was just completely emotionally numb. I felt like a zombie.
It's so hard with anti-depressants because you have to go thru so many before you find the right one.
Fibromyagia since 1997
Bi-lateral Cervical Radiculopathy from C4-C8
Bi-lateral Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
Bi-lateral Ulnar Neuropathy
Cervical cancer-in remission
Depression w/anxiety attacks
Plus vitamins and herbs
Doctors want me on more meds but every single thing gives me awful side effects.
