Hello, my name is Monica, I was wondering if anyone knew about the early side effects of Zoloft.  I'm taking 50 mg. for PMDD once a day, and had immediate results.  I felt great but I was really tired so I started to take it at night. It's been two weeks now I don't know if it's still working, i have to admit I do feel better, though I'm going through ups and downs alot. Is this something I should be patient with and wait a month before talking with my doctor?  Has anyone experienced something similiar?

Thank You

Hallo Monica and welcome to HW. I am normally on the anxiety board but sometimes pop across here because I am on antidepressants. I've been on my new one Effexor for two weeks as well and it is in the same family as Zoloft - an SSRI. I've been feeling tired too. I was told that it takes 2 to 6 weeks before the full benefit is felt, so I guess we'll have to be patient. Good luck.

Hi Monica and welcome!

I have been on zoloft since June. I have slowly increased from 25 mg. to 150 mgs. It may take awhile for you to feel the full effects. I would wait until my next appt and then let him know. He may increase your dose. 50 mgs. is fairly low.
Mine makes me tired too so I also take it at night.

Good luck!!
